Medical Assistant Position

Dermatology Medical Assistant (licensed, or willing to take a course provided by Cutting Edge Dermatology) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our dermatology clinic. Must be Apple iPad experienced.

This job is 4 days a week. You will work directly with Dr. Starnes and her associates, board-certified dermatologist and Physician Assistants. Duties include getting patients ready to see the doctor, taking a medical history, documenting in our electronic medical record on iPad, assisting with surgeries and procedures, and more.

  • The workday is typically 8:00 or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Thursday.
  • We are a small, self-owned medical practice. We offer retirement after you have been with us for one year and health insurance after 60 days.
  • Pay is based on dermatology experience and is discussed during the interview.
  • We require our employees to live within a 30-minute drive of our clinic because of inclement weather during our winter season.

Front Desk Position

Open to all with some experience working the front office in a medical facility. Four days a week.

  • The workday is typically 8:00 or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday – Thursday.

Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Position

Dermatology Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant requirements:

  • Licensed in Virginia as a Physician Assistant.
  • Not less than 5 years of experience in ER or primary care.
  • At least 2 years of experience in dermatology preferred, in addition to the ER/primary care requirement.
